1. Why should we hire your
group?
The managing partners with
Objective Viewpoint have over 90 years
of hands-on claim management experience with various carriers, many of
which were in the top 20. We all have spent time as in-office and field
adjusters, managing in field situations and managing and consulting in
home office settings. We've also worked with a third part claims
administrator as business consultants to develop claim management
software, develop and implement a managed referral shop program, establish
baseline client reviews and participate in marketing endeavors.
Our strength is working with a client on
site to review, audit and validate results. When this process is
completed, we are able to discuss the findings, recommend changes and
assist in revising claim processes, training and implementation of changes.

2. What makes
you different from other consultants?
Our staff is comprised
exclusively of claims professionals who understand the complexities of a
claim organization. We have hands on knowledge; the competition is
not likely to have this. They may be focused solely in the current
management theories rather than practical claim management. We are not
looking to restructure your operation, unless that is truly your goal, but
rather to refine the current operation. This may involve increasing
efficiencies, managing expenses, etc. There is no “one solution” in the
claim arena because of the many variables such as policies in force,
marketing direction, claim organizational structure, among others. We have
seen what doesn’t work as well as what does work. While we might recommend
change at some point, that is not our initial goal.
Across the board
experience provides us with:
| |
 |
A solid understanding of
the inter-relationships between divisions within the claims operations
as well as claims operations and the various departments within
insurance companies. |
| |
|
|
| |
 |
The ability to relate
to carrier challenges and opportunities from both a managerial and
worker perspective. |
In our careers, we have
enjoyed working to develop and implement successful claim processes and
procedures, and we look forward to continuing with similar challenges.

Questions
4. What are your
expenses and costs like?
We think you will find us most
competitive and reasonable in this area when compared to other
consultants.
There are a number of factors that
determine our service fees. The first step is to understand your
organization and we can do this with a phone interview. The next step is
to define work requirements or what it is that you want
Objective Viewpoint to do. After we
have a better understanding of your organization, claim processes and the
scope of our work requirements, we will develop our recommendations as to
time and staff required, and provide a business and fee proposal.
Our service fees depend upon the specific
details of the work that we agree upon. We will translate this opportunity
into three work areas:
|
 |
Our time commitment
|
|
|
|
|
 |
The personnel that will be required to complete the work assignment |
|
|
|
|
 |
Any anticipated expenses
|
Before we commit to an
assignment, we will outline to you and your organization, in the form of a
proposal and contract, what we believe is necessary to complete the task
and provide the best results. The final step would be for you and
Objective Viewpoint to agree and
schedule a date for the work to begin.

Questions
5. Have you done this type of work before? Whom have you done work for
before?
It is Objective
Viewpoint’s usual business practice to sign confidentiality
agreements. Clients have been extremely stringent on confidentiality
requirements and as such we are unable to release specifics as to the
clients and nature of work we did for them.
However, as mentioned earlier, all of the
managing partners have extensive experience gained while working with top
20 insurance companies. Our experience ranges from claim adjusting to
managerial and executive positions. All of us have worked in corporate
settings with the responsibility of monitoring claim department activities
down to individual claim offices. A requirement of these positions was to
perform claim audits, file reviews, working with Departments of Insurance
on Market Conduct Exams, field certification through re-inspection
activity, casualty evaluation and negotiation effectiveness.
In addition, we have experience working
for a major third party administrator servicing auto and homeowner claims.
We have worked with clients of the TPA to establish a baseline against
which to measure both their own competence and the TPA’s effectiveness.

Questions
6. How
long will it take you to complete this project?
Again, this varies
according to the nature of the project. Assuming no complicating issues
are uncovered while working on it, we will meet the timeline and costs
specified in our proposal.

Questions
7. What can you tell me that will give me a better comfort level with you?
We’ve been in your
position. Please look at our biographies that include our backgrounds and
experience. We also have associate consultants who are experienced and
qualified professionals, with strong skill sets in claims and other
property and casualty disciplines. They are ready to assist us if
additional staffing is required for a project or work assignment.

Questions
8. How long
will it take to get a proposal from you?
This will vary due to the
complexity of the project, but generally speaking our proposals will be
completed within 10 working days of securing the project details.
Back to the list of
Questions
9. Why do you
need access to data and files?
Generally, all we need to provide you with a proposal is a pre-interview
in which we gather information about your company and the project. In some
cases, we may not be able to define the project or draft a proposal until
we obtain more specific information. Some information may only be
available from reviewing a sample of closed claim files or obtaining
specific claim data from statistical reports.
In any event, we want to work with you
and build your confidence in Objective Viewpoint
to accomplish our objective. If you provide (verbally or in writing) any
general operational claim information, report data or claim specific
information, we will guard this information in strict confidence. And, as
indicated previously, we will sign a confidentiality agreement.

Questions
10. What
other expenses can I expect in this proposal?
In terms of other expenses, primarily
travel, we will work with you and make every attempt to adhere to your own
expense guidelines or travel policy. So, if you have established vendor
relationships with hotels, airlines and rental car companies, we will
consider using their services. We can pay these expenses and include these
expenses along with our service fee proposal; or you can make the
arrangements and pay the vendors directly.
